Drill Bit
You can run Drill Bit from a CD or DVD and is very portable!
Save your log on information such as user id and passwords to as many on-line services as you wish. With Drill Bit, you can have a different user ID and password for each web service and you only need to remember the password for Drill Bit. Save log-in information.
Drill Bit remembers all of your user IDs and passwords. If someone steals your computer, they can not get to your passwords!
Drill Bit is a password management program. Drill Bit is secure password software. Or secure password application. Or a password encryption application.
This also works well for saving credit card information on your hard drive in a very secure manner!
The first time you run Drill Bit, it will take about 3 minutes to run. This is because it is building keys. After the keys have been created, you will see 4 text boxes for passwords. These passwords are just for Drill Bit. You must type a User password two times and an Administrator password two times. Both User passwords must be exactly the same, and both Administrator passwords must be exactly the same. Your User passwords must be different from your Administrator passwords.
To view actual passwords instead of *** hit the Show Password Toggle button. Click it once to hide passwords and user IDs. Click the Show Password Toggle button to hide all user IDs and passwords, hide only passwords, or hide nothing. Even if you show the password by hitting this button, your password fill will still be unreadable from the hard drive.
You can double click on the password list to open an applications from Drill Bit and set the Windows clipboard to be the ID and Drill Bit will minimize for 5 seconds. Drill Bit will go back to normal screen and if you click the Password button, the password will be copied to the Windows clipboard, and Drill Bit will minimize and stay there until you click it again.
For example: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe http://affiliates.digitalriver.com will open Internet Explore and open the web site http://affiliates.digitalriver.com. Also the ID you have set in Drill Bit will copy itself to the Windows Clipboard.
You can type ie for internet explorer on the executable line.
Do a backup on your passwords before installing this, if you forget the User password and the Administrator password, there is no way to unscramble the password file! Use this software at your own risk!
Finally, an easy way to remember your passwords! You only need to remember your user password for Drill Bit. If you are the IT support for a given PC you will want to set the Administrator password. If you forget the User password, you can log in as Administrator to reset the User password.
Hackers will have to go through eight million plus passwords to guess your password for Drill Bit, and no indication when they find it. No indication when they have it wrong.
You can now use good passwords for all of your sites. We recommend at least 10 digits with at least one number, one upper case, and one lower case letter.
Your passwords should be different for every system you log to. For example, hotmail, yahoo mail, eBay, bank one, bank two, sharebuilder, and such each should have a different password for each of these. They should be good passwords, at least 10 characters, at least one lower case, one upper case, and on number.
Your passwords will be saved on your hard drive.
Listen up businesses. You can log in as administrator, and see all of the passwords. This means that you will never again lose passwords because somebody quit or got fired. Every PC will have its own keys to decode the passwords, so your employees can not share password lists. We recommend you keep the Administrator passwords to IT so you can make them the same on all the PCs in the company!
Home users will like the fact that passwords will no longer be lost when someone dies. You can log in with the administrator password and access all the systems the same as the user.
You can have up to 91 characters for User and Administrator passwords for Drill Bit. There is no limit to any other password sizes. For example, if you have a bank web site that uses 255 characters for a password, that will work.
We use 10 to 12 characters on most of our stuff.
Families will like that no matter what the kids change their own passwords to, they can log in as administrator and still use all of the passwords as if they were the user.
The passwords are encrypted (scrambled) and saved as a file.
Security minded people will like that the only time you can see any passwords is when the power is on, and you have typed in the correct user password or administrator password. Each character of your password file has its own key. This means if you make the password aa, the first a will be saved as a different character in the password file. Keep in mind, you should have passwords that do not have dates, or words. You should avoid your personal feelings for people as well. Passwords, and for Drill Bit are case sensitive.
If someone stills your computer, they will not be able to retrieve any of the passwords.
If you type a user password or administrator password incorrectly, you will see the following text in the password file:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
There is no warning of a bad password, Drill Bit will simply not work.
Users may change their own user password, after they log in.
Administrators may change the passwords for users and administrators.
